Obituary For Wade Robert George Balisky

Wade Robert George Balisky, resident of Goodwin, AB went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 1, 2021 at the age of 45.

Wade was the youngest of four children born to Bob and Ruth Balisky. He grew up in Goodwin, went to Ridgevalley School from Kindergarten through grade 12, and then attended Peace River Bible Institute for 1 year. He graduated from Olds College in 1996 and pursued his passion for farming, becoming involved in the family farm.

Wade married Aubrey Warkentin on January 19, 2002. He and Aubrey farmed alongside Bob and Ruth. In 2011, responsibilities were handed over to Wade and Aubrey as Bob and Ruth’s role changed. This was the beginning of Bar 71 Land & Livestock. Wade has been involved in Prairie Coast Equipment as a shareholder, on the board of Bezanson Community Church, and Peace River Bible Institute.

Wade loved the Lord, he loved and valued his family, and had an interest and love for people. Always sharing these experiences with others, he took great enjoyment in snowmobiling, river boating, flying, and exploring places not many people had been.

Wade will be ever missed by his daughter Indya; sons Remington and Chevey; mom Ruth; sisters Lois (Tim), Celeste (Dale), and Susan (Terry); mother in-law Gayleen; father in-law Don; sisters in-law Raine (Colton), and Haylee (Jeff); brothers in-law Hudson (Emma), and Sawyer; many nieces, nephews great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Wade was predeceased by his father Bob Balisky.

Memorial donations can be made to Pregnancy Care Center (PO Box 124 Stn Main, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 3A1), or Novo Communities www.efccm.ca/wordpress/south-america/projectnovo. Cheques may be made payable to EFCCM (Box 850, Langley Stn. LCD1, Langley, BC, V3A 8S6).

I can think of no words that adequately reflect the pain that you feel or provide but a modicum of comfort in these difficult days. Your families have been such a big part of our community for many years and we have a collective history. Please know that you have friends, neighbours and associates that grieve with you and will help shoulder the burden of this loss. May your faith give you strength and warm memories give you comfort. Blessings to you all. Greg, Melise, Maiya & Megan Sears

I got to know Wade while I was attending Olds College 1995-1997. We weren't in the same Major but attended most of the same classes together. I got to know him even better in the Christian Club, shooting pool, jackpot table team roping and swimming at Didsbury pool. I was shocked to hear that Wade and his family were in such a tragic accident. What a hard blow for the rest of the family. I encourage you to take comfort in the joy that they all knew and loved our Lord. When my mother died in an accident in 2008, my oldest daughter Hayley was 4 at the time. She showed the amazing faith of a child when she said, "we can be sad but we don't have to be really sad." Your family is in our prayers every day.

Dear family. We want to express to you our deepest condolences. We grieve with you and for Chevy, Remington and Indya. As many, we too have such fond memories of Wade. The first year we were married Wade was a pre schooler and we have memories of him on the farm and taking care of him at times. A memory we have looked back on with some good smiles and laughs this past week was when we went to Sturgis on our motor bike with another couple from our church and Wade and Warren and a friend of Wade's joined us for part of the trip. Wade was forever bringing us a laugh, and oh the fun he and his young friend had chasing the wind. As we've read what some of his/their friends have shared these past days we have been so touched. He and Aubrey lived life well. They served the Lord and showed His love to others in so many ways. The little girls who you will all miss so very much. The word of God tells us "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted". Thankful we get to put our trust in the Lord and that Jesus is always with us. With love and continued prayers for you and all the families. Scot & Kathy

I will miss knowing Wade and Aubrey are in the area. Good people. Good neighbours. Good community people. They invested so much in the lives of so many people. Always neighbourly. Always sociable. Wade was an enthusiastic and successful farmer and Aubrey a skilled and creative photographer. Both devoted parents. People of faith committed to honouring their Heavenly Father. Seeking to spread His love to those around them. Iâ??m sorry I wonâ??t see their little girls, Jewel and Fleur, grow and blossom and continue to hold up the light of a loving family and a compassionate God. I ache for Chevy, Remmington and Indya and the difficult journey before them. For them and the rest of your family, the hole left by your loss seems a dark and painful void. To say Iâ??m praying for you seems so meager and small. But with a heavy heart I bare witness to your pain and trust that the God of all comfort will give what you need when you need it.

Jon and I were saddened to hear this news. We have been praying for the children and families. Wade and Jon were roommates for a short time at Olds College, and Wade's energy and humor were something we enjoyed during our time at college and Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship. Hugs to you all.

7-8 yrs ago I happened to run into Wades family at Edmonton airport, my wife had our young kids playing at a little kids area but came to me and said a few other â??Wild kidsâ?? showed up and was too rough for us. I looked and laughed and we all got to visit for a while. The joy of knowing the Lord was evident in Wades life it was obvious he knew Jesus. What a legacy Bob and Wade leave. Much respect for these men. BJ

Please accept condolences from Robert and myself on this tremendous loss of this young couple and their two youngest children. Words are so inadequate at times like this. I am so sorry for the overwhelming sense of loss and sadness you must be feeling. There is a part of my mind that protests...too soon...too young! Then a part remembers the scripture, â??itâ??s appointed unto man a timeâ??, and wonder if they could have had an appointment? We will never know, until the other side. In the meantime, we send you our love and respect, and will send heavenward our prayers for you!
