Obituary For Wallace Bliss
Wally Bliss passed peacefully on to the Lord, with family at his side on Friday, January 26, 2018, at the age of 89 years.
Wally was born, the youngest son of Everette and Edith Bliss, on January 22, 1929, in Youngstown, AB.
At the age of 20, and with a variety of jobs under his belt, he returned to Grande Prairie. Here, he completed an apprenticeship in plumbing and heating and went on to open his own business.
Soon after arriving in Grande Prairie, he began dating Nora Nelson, the young woman he would marry 2 years later. Wally and Nora raised 3 children in this area.
Wally’s passion was for the great outdoors, and he would spend countless hours quading, camping, and hunting with family, friends, and his dog.
Wally leaves a legacy of treasured memories for his wife Nora; children: Darrel (Sandy), Wayde (Lynda), and Colleen (Terry); 15 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home, in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave). Reception to follow.
Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke of Alberta (Unit 109, 10126-120 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 8H9) or to The Lung Association (Box 4500 Stn South, Edmonton, AB, T6E 6K2).
