On Thursday, October 15, 2015, Walter John Labarowski passed away peacefully in Edmonton, AB, at the age of 79 years.
Walter was born on October 27, 1935 on the family farm near Pennant, SK, which is located a short distance northwest of Swift Current. He was raised on the farm, and attended elementary and high school in Pennant, graduating in 1953. Walter then entered the Moose Jaw Teacher’s College (1953/54), after which he taught Grades 1 through 8 in a rural school at Cantaur, SK.
After two years of teaching, Walter decided to switch career paths, and he therefore enrolled in the College of Engineering at the U of S in September, 1956. He was to spend his entire career with Procter and Gamble. In 1969, he was transferred to the P&G parent company’s headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. In September 1981, Walter and Donna made their last move when he was transferred to Grande Prairie, AB as the technical unit manager in the Procter and Gamble Cellulose Limited’s pulp mill. Walter was an avid marathon runner. Competing in several marathons, he won the gold medal in the 1992 Alberta Senior Games.
Walter is survived by his loving wife Donna, their children Douglas (Darlene) and Donald (Kim) Labarowski. Walter will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Daniel, Branden, Karah, and Taylor.
Walter was predeceased by his sisters Irene and Mary.

Shepherd Larry & Sheila
It was a privilege and honour to have known Walter, and to have had the opportunity to help him when we could. We were saddened to hear of his passing. It came too soon. Walter was absolutely amazing in the way that he helped your mother Donna. He was a true example of a Christian in action and we learned lots from watching his dedication to Donna. Our prayers will be with you, not only Sunday evening and Monday afternoon while we are in London, Ontario, but also after the funeral as you tend to his estate and your mother Donna. Please contact us if we can be of any assistance, however big or small, after we return from London on Tuesday afternoon. We promise to do what we can, until you leave to go back home, and whenever you return to care for your mother. God bless you all.
