Obituary For Walter Theodore Antonio

Walter Antonio, resident of Bezanson, AB, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Grande Prairie Care Center, at the age of 98 years.

Walter was born on March 5, 1923, in Derwent, AB, to John and Anna. At the age of 4, the family moved to Sexsmith, AB, where he was raised with his five siblings. He finished his schooling at grade 8 and continued to farm with his parents untill the age of 25. He then married his wife Martha in 1949, and started farming east of Sexsmith for 15 years before moving to the Bezanson area, until his recent passing.

Raising eight children, Walter was hard-working, and loved working on the farm. A few of the things he loved to do were hunting, fishing, reading, singing, whistling, and travelling.

Walter is survived by his wife Martha; children: Daniel (Mary), Tom (Rhonda), Mary Ann (Alex), Joan, Allan (Janet), Jim (Sherri), and Patti (Chad); as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Walter was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, his daughter Kathy, as well as his son in-law Raymond.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 7:00-9:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 2:00pm, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bezanson (10115 98 Ave.). Interment to follow at Glen Leslie Cemetery in Bezanson.

A link will be available 15 minutes prior to the service on Walter’s obituary on Oliver’s Funeral Home website.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff at the QEII Hospital, and all the Paramedics that helped Walter.
