Walter Holt Wright of Grande Prairie, formerly of the Hythe area, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Grande Prairie Continuing Care Centre, at the age of 86 years.

He was born November 22, 1929 on the farm in the Albright area where he lived until marrying Margaret Henderson in 1973 and making Grande Prairie Home.

Walter is survived by sisters Mary Fletcher and Leola Olson, step-son Doug Henderson (Linda), step-daughter Patricia Henderson; grandchildren: Nichola Stevens (Gord), Tara Smigelski (Mark), Jolene Henderson (Kris) as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his loving wife Margaret Wright, his parents Russell and Annie Wright, brother Theodore, sister Minnie Head, brothers in-law: Walter Head, Chub Fletcher, and Arnie Olson; and Niece Roberta Brulotte.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016, at 2:00pm at Forbes Presbyterian Church in Grande Prairie (9635 76 Ave).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grande Prairie Care Centre (9705 94 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 3A2) or to a charity of one’s choice.
