Obituary For Warren Adair Hill
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Warren Adair Hill, known affectionately to many as “Peace”, on Monday, December 16, 2024, in Grande Prairie, AB after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Nipawin, Sk, Warren spent his childhood years in Allan, Saskatoon and Grande Prairie, developing many lifelong friendships along the way. It was in Grande Prairie where he met Allison, building a life together her and their son Dane. Warren spent the early part of his career working in the oilfield for several years until he decided it was time for a change. He started working with Canada Post, where he earned the respect and admiration of many in his role as a supervisor.
Warren loved to make the people around him laugh whether it be with his quick wit, a cheesy Chuck Norris joke, or a groan worthy dad pun. With his laid-back and easygoing nature, he had a knack for reminding others to not take life too seriously and never sweat the small stuff. An avid fan of the Boston Celtics and the great #33, Larry Bird, Warren enjoyed watching and playing sports, reading true crime novels and autobiographies, finding new creations to build, and spending time with family and friends. Above all else, his biggest joy in life was spending time with his son Dane, he himself being a big kid at heart. He was and will continue to be Dane’s greatest cheerleader, always encouraging him to try his hardest in sports, school, and life.
Warren is loved and missed by his wife, Allison, his son Dane, his mother Linda, his sister Larena (Orland), his brother Trent, and his nephew Kai. He will also be deeply missed by countless extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ken, whose memory he carried closely throughout his life. Warren leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the wisdom to find joy in the little things in life.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Family and friends are invited to drop in between 11:00 am and 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life for Warren will follow in the Spring of 2025.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made on Warren’s behalf to one of the following:

Warren and I started at Canada Post the same day. He had a great sense of humor and it was apparent from the beginning that he would be a well liked individual. We had some good laughs and he was always willing to do a little extra to help out anyone. Condolences to his family and friends.

As an older cousin, I remember Warren as a little blondie, with a shy but ready smile. Distance and time does not change family connections and I am deeply saddened to hear of Warren's illness and passing. I can imagine he bore this stoically and was thinking of others. May all the happy memories be treasured and serve as a source of strength and comfort for all the family. Rest in peace Warren. Sherry ( nee Hill) and Frank Nigro Ottawa
