Wayne Brian Cunningham, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Prairie Lake Hospice, at the age of 61 years.

Wayne was born in Chetwynd, BC, on October 7, 1962. He moved numerous times before settling in Grande Prairie. Wayne was a firefighter at a young age. Later in life he volunteered for the Salvation Army. He was a hard worker.

Wayne loved helping people, whether he knew them or not. He was a very easy-going person. Wayne enjoyed his hockey games, playing crib and listening to Christian music. He studied the bible for many years.

Wayne will be sadly missed by his mother Caroline Cunningham; sisters: Brenda Parenteau, Connie Cunningham, Marilyn Cunningham, and Verna Halldorson (Len); as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Wayne will be greeted in Heaven by his father, Frank; brothers: Dale and Frank Jr.; as well as sisters June and Jane.

The family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Lake Hospice for the caring and compassion for Wayne in his last few weeks of life.

A Funeral will be held for Wayne on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave). Interment will be held at a later date.
