Obituary For Wayne Fredrick Gette

Wayne Fredrick Gette, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Ponoka, AB, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at home, at the age of 62 years.

Wayne was born on October 15, 1960, in Ponoka, and grew up on a farm with his siblings. As soon as he graduated school he started working in the oilfield. Wayne worked with Precision Drilling for over 30 years. He also opened his own business in 2001, known as L.A Heat Tanning Salon.

Wayne was a very loving and devoted father. He always prioritized his three children. He loved spending time with his two dogs Bonkers and Ranger.

He was brutally honest, but also a very loyal, loving father. He loved all sports and was always watching them.

Wayne will be sadly missed by his former wife Debra Larkman; his three children: Kyle, Ashley, and Michelle; mother Isabel Gette; brother Rob (Kim) and their children: Josh, Faith, and Sarah; sister Susan (Randy) Hatala and their children: Michael, Brandon and Stefanie; as well as niece and nephews: Nicole, Tyler, and Dustin.

Wayne was predeceased by his sister Karen Bell (nee Gette), and dad Wendel Gette.

A private family viewing was held on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke of Alberta (100-119 14 St NW, Calgary, Alberta, T2N 1Z6).

    Our sympathy to all of Wayne's family on their great loss.Especialy to his Mother-Isabel as nothing is harder than losing your child .May God help all of the family through this very difficult time
