Obituary For William Balmer
William Thomas Balmer passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 92 years, only a few miles from where he was born and raised.
Bill began his life off the farm working for Yukon Southern Airways, then joined the Air Force during the Second World War. He returned to work for the Alberta Forest Service and then ran a Mechanical repair shop in Grande Prairie. He finally retired to work part time for the Alberta Forest Service in Spirit River.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Kay; sister Beth; sons: George, Lyle, Kevin and Daryl, as well as their spouses, children and grandchildren; step-sons: Darrel, Wesley, and Allan and step-daughters: Barbara, Wanda, and Debbie, as well as their spouses, children, and grandchildren. At the time of his passing, he had over twenty grandchildren and thirty two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father George, mother Olive, brother Fred, wife Elizabeth, and wife Alice.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
