Obituary For William "Bill" Bolselsaw Wozniak

William “Bill” Boleslaw Wozniak, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Codesa, AB, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 98 years.

He was born on July 23, 1923, in Stojanow, Poland and immigrated to Canada at 6 years old. He was the eldest of six children born to Anthony and Maria Wozniak. Bill grew up and went to school in the Codesa area. He was a veteran of World War II and was a RCEME – Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineer. After the war Bill farmed and raised a family in the Belloy area.

As a devoted father, he was involved in the community serving on the School Board and enjoyed various sports especially golf. Bill was very passionate about politics, watching CNN everyday and talked about it daily to Gerry, Cecile and anybody else that would listen.

Bill will be sadly missed by his son Gerry (Wendy) and daughter Deanna; grandchildren: Craig (Gerry), Kyle, Geri-Ann, and Ryan (Deanna); great-grandchildren: Kolby, Jadeyn and Jace (Kyle), and Maria-Kate and Jack (Geri-Ann); brothers Edward (Sharon) and Roman (Bonnie); as well as extended family and many friends.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Stephanie in 1972; mother Maria in 1988; father Anthony in 2002; brother Merlin in 2020; sister Cecile in 2020; as well as brother Matt in 2020.

A Luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 1:00-3:00pm, at the Grande Prairie Legion (9912 101 Ave).
