Obituary For William Caldwell
William “Bill” John Caldwell, formerly of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away in Edmonton, AB, on Monday, April 23, 2018, at the age of 69 years.
Bill was born in Grande Prairie and raised on the family farm located just outside of Grande Prairie. He attended the University of Alberta and received his Engineering Degree in Chemistry. He farmed with his father Jack and his brother Andy until the family farm was sold. His career then took him around the world until he eventually retired in Edmonton. The Peace Country always held a special place in his heart.
Bill had a love of photography and always traveled with his camera. He had a talent for capturing images and showing the rest of us the world as he saw it. From big stormy skies, to beautiful wheat fields, to a small chickadee huddled against the cold on a snowy tree stump, to pictures of family. These are treasures he shared with us.
Bill was taken too soon from us and will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his surviving siblings: Hilary Caldwell, Andy Caldwell, Lyn Caldwell, and Martin Caldwell; niece Shauna and family; and nephews: Kevin, Jason, Christopher, Michael, and families.
He was predeceased by his sister Mary Sterling (nee Caldwell), and his father and mother Jack and Beryl Caldwell.
An interment will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 1:00pm, at Grande Prairie Cemetery (84th Ave. & 112th St.).

I was deeply saddened to hear of Bill's passing. We spent a lot of extracurricular time together at the UofA. If I recall correctly, Starlight Towers was often the place a group of us would gett together. I marvelled at Bill's ability to comprehend subject material that made no sense to me! Most of all, however, I will remember his good nature, his sense of humour and a person who I considered a friend. I regret that we did not stay in touch over the years.

So sad to hear of Bill's passing. We worked together on the U of S campus. I considered him a good friend. I am going to be in Edmonton during the Sept long weekend and emailed him regarding a visit. When I didn't hear back, I investigated and saw that he had passed away. My condolences to the family. He was a good man.
