I was so sorry to hear of Yogi's passing. It has been years since I worked with Yogi at the "Rec-Plex" pool, but my memories of her laughter, eternal optimism and love of life will be cherished. Yogi was an amazing individual who lifted others up just by being her! Earl and family, may your memories of Yogi lift you up during this very difficult time. Sincere condolences, Lesley Krpan (née Hunter)

My heartfelt condolences to Earl and to her special boys Curtis and Troy and their Families. Yogi enjoyed her grandkids to the fullest. I will miss my cousin, so much. Warm and thoughtful. We reconnected at a St.Joe's football game, when we found out that our boys (Troy and Mathieu) were on the same team. We chuckled and from that day on, we shared many memories with Earl and Yogi. Yogi enjoyed the simple things, like family, good food, the great outdoors, a joke, and a campfire. Which we had the privilege to share with her. Thinking of you. Wade and Dorine Evans.

I am so sorry to learn that Yogi has passed. I am literally crying having learned this news and I've not had the good fortune to work with Yogi in some 15 years. Yogi helped mentor me as a beginning lifeguard at age 16 into early adulthood and she was my water chemistry guru. She was the best example of keeping things real and not trying to over complicate things. One of the best examples of this was when I was a new National Lifeguard (NLS) Examiner and had Yogi in my recert class. I was nervous to examine her because she was responsible for a great deal of my training in entering the world of aquatics. Still, she kept things professional and encouraged me to do my job while she proved her excellent skills. During the recert, I sent a young guy out of the chemical room with "chemicals" all over him (really baby powder and bicarb). When he ran out while Yogi was showing her guarding skills, Yogi didn't flinch at his overactiving that he was "burning ". Yogi just brought him over to the pool edge and pushed the guy in. Then she "cleared the pool" as it now had chemicals added. The guy she pushed in seemed shocked she just pushed him into the pool and honestly, so was I. When I questioned Yogi, she explained in her no-nonsense way that the chemicals were in our room, so obviously dissolved in water, that he's a lifeguard so he for sure can swim, and that if he had trouble he she could dive in to rescue him and she'd already removed the threat the unknown chemicals posed to her. It was all explained in her trademark French-Canadian accent and with a smilingly blunt delivery that I always adored in her. I remember joining her for Christmas day morning swims, laughing on New Years 1999 as we had liqueur chocolates on site and she said no way could we eat them in case an incident happened as the paperwork would be ridiculously terrible, and playing the song "Earl Had to Die" at the end of shift for her as she hadn't heard it yet and she was pretty sure he wouldn't agree with the lyrics. Yogi was my favorite number crunching accountant as she was a singular sensation in the best way possible. I've long since left life working in pools but Yogi was one of my favorite people from having worked in this often chaotic environment. My most heartfelt condolences for the loss of this special lady. Kari Dalke
